Christopher Shatzer is a local award winning photographer with over 30 years of experience. Chris has won state and national awards for his photography for news, feature and portrait photography. His work with the Associated Press has been published in many major magazines and other publications nationally and world wide.

He was formerly the Photo Editor for the Public Opinion Newspaper and now operates Shatzer’s Photo Studio in Chambersburg. Most people in the area know Chris by his Shatzer’s Sports Photo buisness for his photos of children in sports, or his years of work as a photojournalist for the Public Opinion. What many people don’t know is that he owns and operates a full service photo studio in Chambersburg.

Shatzer’s Photo Studio is located at 213 North Second Street between the Old Jail and Corpus Christi School. Many area natives remember the location as being “across from the Old Sears Building”. The studio is located next to the Falling Spring Stream which provides a beautiful backdrop for senior pictures.

From the outside, the studio can be recognized by a large blue and gold awning. Once inside, most customers are surprised by the size of the studio, which features spacious and comfortable welcoming and dressing rooms and a portrait studio that can accommodate large family portraits. A photo gallery in progress features local scenic prints. Off street parking is available behind the studio for easy access.

Shatzer’s offers a wide range of business and commercial photography, many of which are featured on large area billboards. The studio also offers same-day services for class reunion and group photos.
